Executive Director (ED)
Type of Position: PART TIME, availability for emergencies outside of normal business hours
Location: Remote / York County, PA
Overview
We are looking for an exceptional person to advance the mission of Sparrow Place to transform the lives of women who have survived sex trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the administration, financials, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Sparrow Place is a faith-based non-profit and the Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Primary Responsibilities
▪ Be the face of the organization by representing SP to regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders, supporters, and the general public
▪ Identify and create opportunities to enhance SP visibility, position, and credibility within local communities
▪ Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community service providers and key stakeholders ▪ Support the operation and administration of the Board by executing Board approved policies while interfacing between the Board and all other positions within SP ▪ Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of the Residential Program and (future) Social Enterprise
▪ Mentor and directly manage the Residential Program Manager and (future) Social Enterprise Manager
▪ Maintain full awareness of the complete financial, statistical, accounting, and insurance records of the organization
▪ Work with the Treasurer to recommend a yearly budget for BOD approval and prudently manage the organization's resources within those budget guidelines
▪ Develop and implement fundraising strategies that will position the organization to sustain and grow its budget
▪ Effectively manage the human resources of the organization according to policies that fully conform to current laws and regulations
▪ Maintain confidentiality of financial, personnel, donor, and volunteer records and information as required by law
▪ Provide local, regional, and national advocacy and education for the mission and programs of Sparrow Place
▪ Provide oversight for the upkeep of Sparrow Place program properties

▪ Respond quickly and appropriately to email and phone inquiries and business correspondence
▪ Become a signer on banking and legal documentation
▪ Keep donors informed, engaged, and properly thanked through various methods
▪ Assist in soliciting and orienting new Board members
▪ Determine appropriate staffing needs
▪ Hire and coach qualified candidates, assuring appropriate salary and wage structure, and terminating employees for cause
▪ Provide consultation and support for crisis intervention to program Staff, as needed
▪ Mediate for Program Manager, Staff, Volunteers, and Residents, as needed
▪ Provide consultation in regards to the acceptance or denial of new Residents
▪ Release Residents, as necessary
▪ Assist Program Manager and Residential Team as they work towards future Residential Program Certification
▪ Coordinate and oversee all Grant writing
▪ Conduct, guide, and actively participate in meetings as requested and disseminate pertinent information
▪ Submit all information, reports, and records as requested or required by law to appropriate government officials or the BOD
▪ Maintain and grow audience of email supporters, communicating through monthly and other newsletters
▪ Keep the organization website fresh and up to date

⎯ Willingness to learn/maintain a working knowledge of best practices for the residential care of women survivors of sex trafficking
⎯ The ability to think, respond quickly, and maintain a can-do attitude in a changing environment
⎯ Working knowledge with MS office to include Word and Excel
⎯ The ability to work with, or learn to work with, Zoom, Squarespace, MailChimp, and Google Docs/Sheets
⎯ The ability to navigate and positively engage a wide range of personalities and cultures, showing respect for all
⎯ The ability to work with sensitive information, using discretion for the safety and security of Staff, Volunteers, and Residents
⎯ Able to organize, supervise, and delegate
⎯ Driven to follow up on assignments
⎯ Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
⎯ Strong team building skills
⎯ Willingness to seek out, develop, and maintain community partnerships
⎯ Successful completion of criminal background check
⎯ Willingness to respond after hours in case of emergency
⎯ Participation in training on human trafficking and trauma
Preferred
⎯ Prior nonprofit leadership experience; management of a nonprofit ideal
⎯ Experience in the field of social welfare/social work/counseling/human services (volunteer or employment)
⎯ A passion for advocating for victims of sexual violence and substance addiction
